I was raised in a suburb north of Boston near the ocean. Being an only child of artistic parents, I was surrounded by exquisite art and antiques. Art was a given in our home and this influenced my aesthetic sensibilities.
In the late 70's, I attended the Massachusetts College of Art and received a BFA in glass. With a sense of adventure, I migrated to Seattle, moved to Whidbey Island and started a glass tile business, Cultus Bay Tile. For the next 15 years, I happily designed and manufactured tile for WATERWORKS.
As my career evolved, I branched out beyond glass into other medias including printmaking and textiles which brought about Stubborn Twig Design, during an artist retreat in Maine. Stubborn Twig Design brings together my love of process and materials, creating cards, up cycling clothing, and surface design. All my products are influenced by nature, abundant color.. and dots.
I currently live on an island in the pacific NW , where as a maker of many things, I surround myself with art, people and animals that inspire me.
